Role Overview
We are seeking a highly technical Workday HCM System Administrator to serve as the primary owner of Workday configuration, security, and business process design. This role sits within the IT department and requires hands-on expertise in Workday system administration, data governance, and technical troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will operate autonomously as the internal Workday expert and collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and IT teams.

Key Responsibilities System Administration & Configuration
  • Serve as the primary technical administrator for Workday HCM, ensuring stability, security, and performance across all modules (Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Absence)
  • Configure and maintain business processes, calculated fields, notifications, and security roles
  • Manage user access, domain policies, and role-based security frameworks
  • Perform EIB data loads, audits, and validations to maintain data integrity
  • Troubleshoot system issues and manage integrations with internal and external systems
  • Monitor system performance and resolve escalated Tier 2/3 support issues
Data Management & Reporting
  • Maintain data accuracy and compliance with governance standards
  • Support data migration and validation for new features or module rollouts
  • Build and maintain advanced reports and dashboards for HR, Finance, and Payroll
  • Collaborate with Finance on position management and cost center hierarchies
Collaboration & Change Management
  • Partner with HRIS, Finance, Payroll, and IT teams to deliver scalable solutions
  • Manage change control processes, including configuration tracking and stakeholder communication
  • Lead testing and documentation for Workday semi-annual updates and enhancements
  • Provide user training and create documentation to promote adoption
Continuous Improvement
  • Stay current on Workday Community updates and best practices
  • Lead or support enhancement projects and new module implementations
  • Drive process improvements and promote system optimization
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Workday HCM System Administrator or HRIS Analyst
  • Strong hands-on experience with Core HCM and related modules (Compensation, Benefits, Absence)
  • Proven ability to configure business processes, security roles, calculated fields, and perform EIB data loads
  • Experience maintaining data governance standards and ensuring compliance
  • Demonstrated success partnering with Finance and Payroll for data alignment
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead testing and documentation for Workday updates
Preferred Qualifications
  • Workday certifications in Core HCM, Reporting, or Security
  • Experience supporting Workday implementations or new module rollouts
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related technical field; HR or Accounting background a plus
