\n\nJob Details:
\n• Work 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts with rotating schedule (won't rotate within 4-week schedule but must be able to work either day or night shifts during contract)
\n• 1:2 patient ratio for all shifts
\n• 1.5 years of experience required with recent PICU experience within last 2 years
\n• 36 guaranteed hours per week with facility allowed to call off 3 times throughout 13-week assignment
\n• 4 weekend shifts per schedule for day shift and 4-5 for night shift (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights considered weekends)
\n• Required to float to NICU and may be asked to resource in Pediatric ED for IV assistance and medication support
\n• Must have experience with CRRT & ECMO procedures, ventilators, and working knowledge of inotropic drips
\n• Care for patients with respiratory distress/failure, renal failure, trauma, CRRT, ECMO, heme/onc, multi-system organ failure, and suicide attempts
\n• Required certifications: BLS, PALS, New Mexico license
\n• Level I Trauma experience required with strong trauma skills
\n• 36-hour orientation provided
\n• Black scrubs required (not provided)
\n• Charting system: Cerner
\n• Overtime must be pre-approved and approval is rare
\n• RQI certifications not accepted
\n• No locals within 75-mile radius accepted
Facility:
\nThis Level I Trauma children's hospital is a 554-bed teaching facility providing comprehensive acute care services. The facility operates as a Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center with advanced specialty services including interdisciplinary support teams featuring physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries. The PICU unit maintains 20 beds with a daily census of 15 patients, treating complex pediatric cases across all age groups from neonates to adolescents.
