Cardiac Sonographer (Echo Tech) – Travel
Location: Parkersburg, WV 26101

Start Date: 01/05/2026
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: 8- or 10-hour Day shifts (generally 7:00–3:30, depending on first scheduled study)
Guaranteed Hours: 40/week

 

Job Description

Travel Cardiac Sonographer performing adult and pediatric echocardiography , including standard echos and TEEs . Responsible for providing high-quality cardiac ultrasound exams in a busy acute care setting .

Clinical Scope

• Adult + Pediatric Echo (PEDS required )
• Standard echo exams
• TEE procedures
• Stress echocardiography (works with RN team)
• Average 15–20 studies/day
• No floating outside echo/TEEs (strictly echo services)

Department Setup

• 2 rooms + 1 holding area (can scan in all 3)
• Equipment: Philips
• EMR: EPIC
• PACS system used
• IVs started by cath lab RN (Echo, Cath, Stress are in same area)
• Supervision: Manager of Cath Lab (no lead tech or supervisor within echo)

Requirements

Experience

• 2+ years of recent Echo/Cardiac Sonography
• Adult + Pediatrics required
• Must be able to perform:
  • Standard adult echos
  • Pediatric echos
  • TEEs
  • Stress echoes with RN support

Licensure / Certifications

• BLS (AHA) – Required
• One of the following:
  • RDCS-AE (Adult Echo) via ARDMS – Required
  • RCS, RDMS, or RDCS also acceptable if echo-qualified
• PE (Pediatric Echo) certification is a plus
• Active license to submit – facility willing to wait

Documentation Required

• UNEXPIRED Driver’s License (must be included in every submission)

Shift, Call & Scheduling

• Day shifts, 8 or 10 hours
• Call required:
  • Every 3rd night for STAT echos (evenings/nights)
  • Every 3rd Saturday + on-call Sunday (when it’s their call weekend)
• Scrubs: Provided by facility

Cancellation Policy

• Facility may cancel 2 shifts per 13-week assignment
• (1 shift allowed if <13 weeks)
