POS Test Analyst
6+ Month Contract
Columbus, OH (Onsite in POS Lab / Hybrid as Needed)
This position is part of a high-performing Quality Assurance team focused on ensuring the delivery of quality software in a retail Point-of-Sale (POS) environment. The POS Test Analyst will collaborate closely with a Test Lead, other testers, application teams, and developers to test requirements, identify and resolve defects, and verify that the POS system functions as expected.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in identifying, creating, and maintaining detailed test scenarios and test cases (including steps and expected results).
- Execute functional tests in a POS lab environment and perform defect retesting as needed.
- Document test execution and results in HP ALM (Quality Center).
- Proactively identify functional, technical, and integration-related defects and support defect troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts, product owners, and project managers to ensure testing coverage and clarity of requirements.
- Communicate issues, risks, and daily testing status to the Test Lead or Team Lead.
- Participate in daily team meetings for updates, planning, and coordination.
- Support the creation and maintenance of test data across multiple environments.
- Review and edit existing test cases for accuracy and relevance.
- Contribute to process improvements and promote best practices in QA and defect management.
Qualifications:
- 57 years of experience testing Point-of-Sale (POS) systems Jumpmind POS experience strongly preferred.
- Experience collaborating within cross-functional Agile teams.
- Proven experience writing, editing, and executing test cases and identifying test data.
- Strong knowledge of POS system integrations and related retail workflows.
- Hands-on experience executing and documenting tests, including proof of testing and validation.
- Proficiency with HP ALM / Quality Center, JIRA, or similar test and defect management tools.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Retail domain experience preferred; experience with ETL processes and tools a plus.
- Basic SQL knowledge in a retail environment is a plus.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Multilingual ability (Spanish or French) to support POS translation testing is a plus.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
