Job Description

High School Academic Administrator Stride, Inc. Overview Louisiana Virtual Charter Academy (LAVCA) seeks an experienced High School Academic Administrator to direct and coordinate educational, administrative, and counseling activities for a high‑quality, personalized online learning environment. Responsibilities Ensure conformance of educational programs to state and local standards. Research and implement non‑K12 curriculum resources that meet state standards. Manage teaching and administrative staff, including Master and Lead Teachers. Communicate the school’s mission and vision to stakeholders. Address educational and behavioral issues with teachers, students, and parents. Coordinate expulsions, withdrawals, and compliance with special education laws. Develop and oversee the school’s Academic Improvement Plan. Lead the development of the school’s Career Technical Education program. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervise 30‑45 full‑time equivalent employees and/or contractors, including hiring, training, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions. Qualifications – Required Master’s degree in business, education, or related field and 5+ years of educational experience. One year of supervisory experience or equivalent education/experience combination. State license as a School Administrator (Louisiana Department of Educational Leadership). Ability to clear a required background check. Qualifications – Other Required Demonstrable leadership, organizational, and time‑management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web technologies. Ability to travel 20% of the time and experience as an online/virtual educator. Qualifications – Desired Experience supporting adults and children with technology. Experience teaching in online and/or brick‑and‑mortar environments. Experience with online learning platforms. Compensation & Benefits Salary in the bottom half of the range based on experience, qualifications, and contribution. Work Environment Virtual position with weekly in‑person meetings in Baton Rouge and district‑wide professional development once a month. Job Type Regular, full‑time.
