Energy Plant Operator – Talladega, AL

Requirement: Must live near Talladega, AL or be willing to relocate
Pay: $20.51

We are seeking a dependable Energy Plant Operator to join our team in Talladega, AL. This role is responsible for operating and monitoring Energy Plant systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production. The operator will work with thermal oil circuits, boilers, feed water systems, and energy controls to maintain optimal performance and safety standards.
This position is ideal for individuals with industrial production experience who are comfortable working with heavy equipment, machinery, and energy systems.
Key Responsibilities
Operations
- Operate Energy Plant equipment following standard start-up, operation, and shut-down procedures.
- Monitor quality and productivity to maintain optimal combustion levels.
- Maximize the use of wood dust and waste as fuel for the energy system.
- Assist with shift coverage when needed and conduct proper shift change handovers.
- Bleed the Energy Plant system as required.
Maintenance & Cleaning
- Perform routine inspections of thermal oil, fire suppression, and feed water systems.
- Assist in installing or upgrading equipment, components, and systems.
- Support preventive maintenance and repairs as scheduled.
- Conduct filter changes on thermal oil systems.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping in assigned work areas.
Clerical & Reporting
- Complete all required safety, quality, and production documentation.
- Record all adjustments and shift activities in logs.
Other
- Work with team members and supervisors to identify and resolve safety or quality issues.
- Support productivity improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1–3 years in a composite panel or industrial production environment (wood panel preferred).
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Skills:
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts, loaders, and heavy machinery.
- Proficiency with electric, pneumatic, and hand tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work without supervision.
- Team player with effective communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- IT Skills: Basic computer skills required.
