Claims Adjuster I

As a Claims Adjuster I, you will be responsible for handling all assigned company property and casualty and/or subrogation claims in an efficient and accurate manner.

Responsibilities
- Accomplishes goals and standards in severity and risk evaluations. Meets departmental standards for BI, PD, Collision and Overall severities. Maintains departmental standards for Cotters and Risk Review Recommendations.
- Assure proper collection of all recoverables. Maintain departmental standards for Collision Subrogation collections, Subrogation Loan set-ups and set-up Collect percentages. Meet departmental standard for storage and movement of Automobile Salvage Assure control of claimants and insured to avoid lawsuits.
- Maintain departmental standards in litigation management. Monitor and maintain acceptable standards for # of Liability suits and All suits. Investigate lawsuits adequately.
- Contribute to the financial planning of the company by adequate reserves and control of expenses. Maintain adequate Reserves on Open Claims. Assure that claims financial are properly reported and reserved within set time frames.
- Assure prompt and efficient handling of claims. Maintain departmental standards on Claims closing % with an error rate of less than 2%. Maintain the company standard of professional claims handling providing fast, fair claims service with a minimum of customer complaints. Continue to broaden skill set with continuing education.
Qualifications
- 4-year bachelor's degree
- In lieu of degree, must have 2 years as an Adjuster -OR- 3 years in automobile repair, home and/or commercial construction, law, law enforcement, auto and/or property estimating
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
