The Postal Service is actively hiring for full time, part time and seasonal employment. The United States Postal Service (USPS) is an independent federal agency that provides universal mail and package delivery across the country and to U.S. military and diplomatic addresses worldwide. Established in its current form in 1970, it is self-funding and receives no tax dollars for operating expenses. The USPS operates one of the largest logistical infrastructures in the world, delivering to every address in the nation and employing over half a million people. Its mission is to provide reliable, efficient, and affordable postal services to connect people and support businesses.

In this role you will perform both routine and complex repairs and maintenance on all types of motor vehicles in the postal fleet. You will troubleshoot and diagnose more complex vehicle malfunctions and may provide assistance to lower-level employees.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose vehicles and perform operational checks on engines, major supporting systems, parts and components
• Perform various computerized and electronic diagnostic tests using specialized equipment
• Prepare and update vehicle records, annotate labor time, and manage work orders
• Conduct visual and auditory vehicle inspections, road calls and road tests

Requirements:

• Age: At least 18 years old (or 16 with a high school diploma or equivalent)
• Citizenship: Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or a citizen of an American Samoa or other U.S. territory
• Background check: Pass a criminal background check and a drug screening
• Medical: Pass a medical assessment

• Keep an open mind—Meet with as many of the companies as you can; you may be pleasantly surprised at what you find.
